What is it with “natural” cures today?
its as if nature was looking out for our interests. like nature WANTS humanity to move forward so it creates these natural cures that doctors cant see or get a hold of.
it seems like “natural” is a euphemism for “doesnt work” or “doesnt have science behind it”
just because it is natural, doesnt mean its good. the death cap mushroom will kill you in a second. the box jellyfish will take you out like a navy seal waiting under the water with a knife. too much antioxidants can keep iron from being absorbed. too much vitamin C can give you flu like symptoms.
yet people want to take megadoses of these things.
why is it that nature is seen as the good guys and man made is seen as the bad guys?
but what is it about pseudoscience that is appealing to people?

Yes, the alties think natural = better and safer. Which doesn’t necessarily follow.
The reality is that nature does not care whether you live or die. The alties are a thin skinned bunch. They prefer to think that “mother nature” is looking out for them.
Humans by nature, are far from logical. There is a natural tendency to favor the subjective rather than the objective.
Alt.med exists due to ignorance. The problem is, the alties think they see results. They are too closed minded to consider other possibilities such as regression to the mean, etc. They simply cannot deal with the complexity of science. So they reject it.
And of course it does not help that alt.med practitioners completely play on their emotions and tell their victims what they want to hear. Ex: Your Doctor is wrong, you’re not fat because you eat too much and don’t exercise, you are fat because you have various deficiencies and you take “toxic pharma drugs” etc.
